Frequently Asked Questions

Are session online or in person?

I have an office near Bend, Oregon (southwest of Bend in Deschutes River Woods). I can schedule a session in this space with clients. I can do in-house sessions if the space is appropriate for an slightly increased rate. I also provide online sessions.

What happens in the first session?

In a secure space, I discuss what you have been experiencing and what your hopes and goals are for your therapy. We’ll take time to get to know what’s bringing you here—gently exploring your story, your needs, and what feels most important to tend to right now. You’re invited to go at your own pace. This time is about creating a sense of safety and connection, so that together we can begin to listen to the wisdom of your body, emotions, and deeper self. From there, we’ll begin to sense what kind of support will be most helpful for you moving forward, whether it’s a single session or a series of sessions.

How long does it take?

Sometimes all a client needs is a new perspective, information, or slight adjustment in their energetic field. When this is the case the work is brief, within a session or two. At other times the client wants to change long-standing patterns and master difficult issues through the therapy relationship. This work is subtle and may take longer. Outmoded defenses need to be seen through and replaced by healthier choices. Old habits can be hard to change, but sometimes, significant breakthroughs happen quicker than we expect!

What tools do I bring to help with a shift back into the desired healthy life?

I have a number of modalities that can be brought into a session with my clients. Craniosacral® therapy and somatic experiencing are generally the foundations of the sessions. However, it is not the modalities that are pivotal. Rather it is the deep, gentle, accepting listening that starts the healing process. I see each person as already healthy, the issue presenting are just that, overlying life experiences that are trapped within their body-mind system. Through intuitive revealing and energetic resonance with my system, their system begins to recognize and release this blockages and regain natural health.

How do clients know if I best fit their needs?

I specialize in working with trauma and anxiety through a nervous system lens. My clients are often high-achieving and self-aware, but feel dysregulated, disconnected, or exhausted. Together, we create a path toward healing that honors both their resilience and their need for rest and repair.

Is it necessary to talk about the past?

Talking about the past is entirely dependent on the client’s desires and needs. This is the beauty of most of the modalities I work with. During Craniosacral Therapy and tuning fork therapy, after the initial check in, the session can be entirely quiet if this suits the client. During most session, talk topics weave around what is being revealed by the client’s body-mind system and how it is impacting their current life situations. This may include their past experiences, but these experiences are held gently and generally lighten and soften. The client express relief after.

How much does it cost?

My base rate is $100 per hour for a session and expect payment at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. I can work with clients on a sliding scale per their financial ability when I have availability and we are a good match for working together.

Will Insurance pay for my sessions?

I am not registered with any insurance companies. Unfortunately, at this time, insurance companies do not recognize my modalities as fitting with their policies.

Do I offer a sliding scale??

Yes. I begin with a complimentary 30-minute consultation—by phone or in person—to explore whether we’re a good fit. If we decide to work together, we’ll agree on a session length and rate that feels appropriate. I’m happy to offer a sliding scale for those who are committed to this work but may be financially limited. I also provide package options at a reduced hourly rate for ongoing sessions.
