What is Alaya Awakening?

At the heart of my work is Alaya—a term rooted in Buddhist thought that refers to the seed consciousness from which all things arise. This includes our thoughts, emotions, sensations, and even the patterns we carry in our bodies. Rather than focusing solely on each troubling experience or symptom, I support clients in turning gently toward the deeper source of imbalance, the quiet root beneath the surface. When we work from this place, healing becomes less about fixing and more about remembering: who you are, what’s true, and what’s ready to unfold.

In our work together, we may explore through stillness, conversation, or touch, depending on what your system is asking for. Modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, Biodynamic Craniosacral® Therapy, and other integrative practices support this unfolding. The work is intuitive, body-centered, and always attuned to your unique rhythms and needs.

At Alaya Awakening, I offer a calm and steady presence, where your nervous system can settle, your patterns can reveal themselves, and your inner wisdom can begin to guide the way. As you become more aware of the conditioning that lives beneath your thoughts and reactions, new choices become possible. You can begin to shift your internal landscape and in doing so, gently transform your outer world.

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Ingrid Bamberg. I’m a somatic therapist who offers a gentle, intuitive space for you to reconnect with the wisdom of your body and uncover what’s shaping your inner experience. With presence and care, I support you in exploring the deeper patterns that may be keeping you from ease, balance, and wholeness.

Over the years, through deep reflection and healing, I’ve come into a quieter harmony with myself and with life. It hasn’t always been easy, but the journey inward has become the most meaningful path I’ve known. What moves me now is walking beside others as they find their way, back to themselves, and back to wholeness.

My first love was the natural world. That love led me into a career as an ecologist, through a Ph.D. and years of consulting in land development. Even then, I was learning about how all things are woven together, and how we’re not separate from the world around us.

But in the middle of my life I felt a shift I couldn’t ignore. I stepped into a new direction, beginning with the “Integral Incubator,” followed by three years of training in Somatic Experiencing. I felt something wake up in me that drew me toward inner work, both my own and in guiding others. I followed that thread through studies in Integral Theory, the Enneagram, Voice Dialogue, Biodynamic Craniosacral® Therapy, and Polarity Therapy.

This is the work of my heart. I love that I can offer a space of quiet attunement, where you can slow down, listen inward, and begin to trust the unfolding of your own healing.
